Timo Werner will return to Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
The journalist from “Sky Sport Germany”, Florian Plettenberg, has announced that the agreement is almost done.
Werner’s desire was to return to Leipzig and this is expected to be formalized next week.
It is not yet known if the German club will loan the 26-year-old from Chelsea or if it will be a permanent transfer.
According to Plettenberg, a loan with a purchase option is expected.
The German striker is leaving Stamford Bridge after only two seasons.
In the summer of 2020, Chelsea paid 53 million euros for the transfer of Werner from Leipzig.
