New Chelsea boss Graham Potter wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in January, according to a sensational report from Todo Fichajes.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly wanted to sign Ronaldo this summer and held a meeting with the Portuguese’s agent Jorge Mendes in July.
The deal was ready to be signed and announced, but then former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel made a fuss and demanded that he not be bought.
So the transfer fell through and Tuchel instead insisted on signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his new striker from Barcelona.
The episode added to the tension between Boehly and Tuchel, which had been building throughout the summer and ultimately resulted in the German being sacked earlier this week.
