Sandro Ramirez joined Sevilla on loan until the end of the season on Tuesday following a challenging first few months to his stay at Everton.
The deal is subject to a medical, and the Andalusians will seek to rediscover the forward’s form that saw him pocket 14 league goals for Malaga last season. The Toffees signed Sandro for around £5.3 million before the 2017-18 term began, but he has made just two Premier League starts for the club.
It’s the second time in one day that manager Vincenzo Montella delved into England’s top tier for a Spaniard that has struggled to acclimatise since a summer move. Midfielder Roque Mesa, who wears the look of a 1950s movie star, will hope to leave the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan faithful swooning following his temporary move from Swansea City.
Sevilla is five points short of the Champions League qualification places in La Liga, and takes on Leganes in Wednesday’s first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final bout.
