The Norwegian striker believes he can learn more from Pep Guardiola

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has said his desire to learn and become a better player has driven him to sign for the Premier League giants.

Despite the interest of several clubs in Europe, the Norwegian chose City, where he will play under the orders of Pep Guardiola.

In an interview with 442, Haalnd has said that his move was well thought out and is about his development as a footballer.

“I don’t know what will happen, but it’s more about learning, about development,” said Haaland.

“You can never stop thinking of ways to become better. Watch Karim Benzema at Real Madrid. He’s 34 years old and all of a sudden he’s grown so much that he’s a much better player today than he’s been in years – crazy good. I always want to do this.”

Although Guardiola has often tested players by changing positions, Haaland has made it clear that he does not see him playing in any other position, apart from attack.

“I watched the Premier League a long time ago, before I came here and I think in recent years the big number nines have become more and more rare, but why shouldn’t it be better for me to be one,” he said.

“It is the last position and I have always wanted to be a striker for this reason. I like my position, I love it.”
