Chelsea “takes revenge” on Barca, blocks the transfer of Azpilicueta and Alonso

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

Chelsea have reportedly blocked potential moves for Cesar Azpilicueta and Marco Alonso to Barcelona.

The London club is said to have taken this decision as a sign of revenge, as the Catalan club is very close to the transfer of Jules Kounde, the footballer much sought after by the Londoners.

Barca also transferred Raphinha, for whom Chelsea had also expressed interest, until they renewed the contract with Ousmane Dembele who was linked to a transfer to “Stamford Bridge”.

Thus, the relations between the clubs are already said to be not good and according to “SPORT”, “Blues” will not allow the departure of Azpilicueta and Alonso.

Both Spanish defenders are out of contract in the summer of next year, while the latter have been linked with a move to Camp Nou, as was Andreas Christensen.

In addition to Christensen, the other defender, Antonio Rudiger, who signed with Real Madrid, also left Chelsea. Thus, Tuchel does not want the other defenders to leave.

Kalidou Koulibaly has strengthened the defense at Chelsea, but if Azpilicueta stays at the club, the club may not have much need to look for another centre-back.
