Kepa Arrizabalaga can continue his career in the elite of Italian football – Serie A.
The Spaniard became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he moved from Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea for £72 million in 2018, a record he still holds.
However, Kepa has not managed to prove himself in the London team, as he also lost the competition with Edouard Mendy for the position of the first goalkeeper.
The 27-year-old made 15 appearances in all competitions last season, including just four in the Premier League – three of which came while Mendy was with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Spanish goalkeeper has a valid contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2025, but he is expected to leave this summer.
According to “La Repubblica”, Napoli is the favorite to sign the 186-centimeter tall goalkeeper.
The Italian club reportedly want him on loan for next season.
From Chelsea it is said that they are open to the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga as a loan, but on the condition that the purchase obligation option is included.
And, according to the Italian medium, the Neapolitans are expected to accept this proposal from the “Blues”.
