After scoring 344 goals in 375 appearances, Robert Lewandowski bid farewell to Bayern Munich as he now looks to write another successful chapter at Barcelona.
The Polish striker left the “Allianz Arena” after eight years, as during this time he won eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cup trophies and one Champions League trophy.
And the German champions must now start planning for the future without him, but with another striker.
“Sports Mole” has identified three attackers that Bayern can target in this summer’s transfer window.
Harry Kane – The Englishman was linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but after no move materialized, he remained at the club and scored 27 goals in 50 appearances in 2021/22.
Bayern are said to be interested in the 28-year-old, with the club’s chief executive Oliver Kahn recently describing Kane as “a good striker” and saying he is “a dream for the future”.
Victor Osimhen – The Nigerian is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe after scoring back-to-back goals for Lille and Napoli in the last three seasons.
At 23, Bayern would be getting a player who can play at a high level, but also a striker who will continue to develop over the coming seasons.
Jonathan David – The striker moved to Lille in 2020. He caught the attention of the French club after scoring 37 goals in two seasons at Belgian side Gent.
Despite being just 21 years old in his first season in France, David played a key role, scoring 13 goals and helping the team win the league title.
Although his team did not reach the top in the last season, David still managed to score 15 goals in the league.
The 22-year-old also scored nine goals in Canada’s World Cup qualifying campaign, which helped his country qualify for Qatar 2022 for the first time since 1986.
David’s impressive form has attracted interest from a number of European clubs, including Bayern who could increase their interest following Lewandowski’s departure.
Although Lille would not be keen to sell a player who is under contract until 2025, Bayern could consider the Canadian a realistic option who could continue to develop at the club.
