Carlo Ancelotti spoke at the press conference after Real Madrid’s triumph in the European Super Cup.
The Italian coach congratulated the team for the performance against Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki, while he welcomed the performance of the opponent.
“We don’t need to show that we have a strong team through this game. We are motivated and want to keep winning. The match proved to be more difficult than we expected. We controlled the game after Alaba’s first goal and we were not in danger. We are still solid at the back and have not conceded a goal in the last three finals. This is a very encouraging sign”, declared the Italian coach.
“The team is on a good path and it is a pleasure to manage these players, there is a good balance here. The games are big and the wins help us keep the locker room healthy. It affects the players,” he continued.
“A year ago, nobody had faith in this team. The team stepped up and improved a lot last year, but there is still room for improvement. We have made many steps forward”, underlined Ancelotti.
The Italian won the Champions League, then La Liga and now the European Super Cup, in his second experience at the Santiago Bernabeu.
