According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Francesco Acerbi is very close to joining Inter on loan from Lazio and could play against the Blue and Whites as early as next week
Media in Italy are reporting that the Italy defender could complete a temporary move to Meazza as early as next week. Acerbi is no longer part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans and does not have good relations with the fans of the team and the club.
According to Gazzetta, Lazio President Claudio Lotito has agreed to send the player on loan to Inter without any option to buy. Lotito wants to save money on wages by not paying Acerbi for July and August, so Inter cover this amount, the report says.
Inter and Lazio need a loan deal, while Acerbi already has a verbal agreement with Nerazzurri.
The 34-year-old is looking to reunite with his former coach Simone Inzaghi, who has been looking for a new arrival to replace Andrea Ranocchia. The 34-year-old joined Monza on a free transfer this summer.
