Shortly after Germany U21 international Jonathan Burkardt cancelled his trip to Antonio di Salvo’s DFB Juniors, FSV Mainz 05 confirmed that the reasoning was a knee joint distortion suffered over the weekend. Burkardt’s fellow Mainz striker Karim Onisiwo will also forgo his current international tour-of-duty with a foot contusion.
