CR7 was on the bench and has entered the second half as a substitute in the last four games the Red Devils have played

Erik ten Hag believes Cristiano Ronaldo can return to the starting line-up at Manchester United, despite him not being the new manager’s favorite player who arrived at Old Trafford this summer.

Ronaldo has agreed to come on as a substitute in the Red Devils’ last four games, which Ten Hag have won, but the 37-year-old could return to the starting line-up in Thursday’s Europa League game against Real Sociedad.

Ten Hag was asked about this in the last press conference he held today.

“He started against Brentford.”

The journalist replied: “But not against Brentford”.

“Then maybe not, but he is ready to start here.”

The journalist further said that due to his age and the demands of the position on the side, would he be able to use him as a center forward throughout the season?

“Of course”, replied the coach.

Ten Hag have also praised resurgent striker Marcus Rashford, who has started six Premier League games under the Dutchman, scoring three goals in that time.

“I see that Marcus Rashford is happy, I see some phases in his game that can be improved, we’ve been working hard these two and a half months in different aspects and he’s enjoying it and he’s showing it on the pitch, and which you are also watching. He is happy. He comes here every day, he is happy, always smiling. A very positive situation”, said the new United strategist.
