Thierry Henry has expressed his opinion that Kylian Mbappe is a much better player than Erling Haaland as he can both create chances and score goals.
Haaland and Mbappe both scored twice in their respective matches in the Champions League, which began on Tuesday evening. Speaking after these games, Henry has revealed which striker he would like to have in his team.
“Mbappe can create chances and score. Haaland does not create. He finishes,” Henry told CBS. “Mbappe can play on the right and on the left. He can also play in the middle. Haaland can only play in the middle”.
“He (Haaland) is an amazing player and with him they would have won the Champions League last year. If he was in that game with Real Madrid, they would not miss the scoring opportunities they had, at least they would score two goals. At the moment, Mbappe has my vote,” said the former Arsenal legend.
Haaland scored twice as Manchester City dominated Sevilla 4-0 last night, with Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden providing the assists. On the other hand, Mbappe scored both of PSG’s goals in the 2-1 win against Juventus.
Haaland scored his 25th Champions League goal against Sevilla, reaching the mark faster than any other player in history, after 20 games.
Having made a fantastic start, Haaland and Mbappe will certainly battle it out for the Champions League Golden Boot. Haaland in the next match in this competition will play against Borussia Dortmund, Maccabi Haifa is the team that Mbappe will face next week.
