There is no victory for Milan at Mapei Stadium

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

Milan will return home with a 0-0 draw against Sassuolo. A monotonous match, without many chances created and with a missed penalty, show the deserved result for this match

Milan has not managed to win against Sassuolo.

Stefano Pioli’s team did not manage to create much in this match, except for a few more serious chances in the first half.

Leao (8) of Milan received a good ball in the area, but even though he was face to face with the goalkeeper, his shot was too weak and ended up far away from the Sassuolo goalkeeper’s goal.

After this case, Alessandro Florenzi would cause a penalty after bringing down a Sassuolo player in the area, which was awarded after VAR review.

But Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi failed to convert this penalty into a goal. Mike Maignan made a great save to deny the home team a goal.

Milan had the best chance to score in the 40th minute of the match with Olivier Giroud but his powerful shot ended up wide of Sassuolo’s left post.

This was also the best chance in this match during the regular minutes of the game.

The ball was circulating in the midfield and neither team managed to change the result in this match.

This is Milan’s second draw as guests after the one against Atalanta. The champions of Italy are in first place at the moment with 8 points, while Sassuolo has reached five points from 4 games.

In the next round, Sassuolo will play against Cremonenses as guests, while Milan will play against the runner-up of Italy, the city rival Inter.
