Corriere dello Sport writes that Tottenham Hotspur had agreed to sign Nocolo Zaniolo before Jose Mourinho sealed the deal, so they are now trying to offer him Tanguy Ndombele to convince the manager again

There have been several reports in recent days that negotiations between the clubs have progressed for Zaniolo, but the latest story shows that the situation was even closer than we knew.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham had reached an agreement with Roma last Thursday to take Zaniolo on loan with an obligation to buy for the amount of 50 million euros.

Zaniolo had also agreed a salary of 4.5 million euros per season and the opportunity for him to work with Antonio Conte in the Premier League.

However, Mourinho stepped in to block the move and Zaniolo was also convinced by the passionate reception he received from the fans at the Olimpico where the team was introduced as a whole in the pre-season game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Roma then called Spurs to inform them that the situation has changed and they would only accept 50 million euros, so no loan or purchase obligation.

Nothing is finished, since Radio Radio says that Tottenham has offered money plus Ndombele, but this too seems to have been rejected.

The contract for Zaniolo can also be increased to five million euros per season net plus bonuses.
