Premier League unbeaten in the transfer window

The English elite league has spent the most this transfer window

The summer transfer window is once again being dominated by the Premier League.

The investments of English clubs are far greater than the investments of the other four European leagues.

La Liga Santander is currently in fourth place, ahead of France’s Ligue 1, according to transfermarkt.es.

This demonstrates the financial muscle of the Premier League for another summer, where this competition is with clubs investing the most in young players. Manchester City, Chelsea and others have spent €1.16 billion so far.

Of course, spending restrictions in the Premier League are seen this summer as the summer 2022 figure is still not close to the figure spent during the summer of the 2019/20 season which was €1.7 billion and most of the clubs in the English elite league spent in the 2017/18 season, more than 2.16 billion euros on new players.

Looking at the ranking of investments in the five main leagues, Italy’s Serie A is in second place (498.18 million euros of investments) followed by the German Bundesliga (378.43 million euros), Spain’s La Liga (305.65 million euros) and last in this ranking is Ligue 1 of France (268.65 million euros).

This summer, PSG seem unable to spend big, contrary to what they have done in the past.
