Jose Mourinho has not yet finished building his Roma project and is now pushing the club to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The French champions, under new manager Christophe Galtier, are aiming to build a new project – with the Dutch midfielder believed to be out of the plans and could leave this summer.
According to “Calciomercato”, mediators offered Wijnaldum to Roma and Milan earlier this month. And it is believed that the club from the Italian capital is more interested.

Mourinho is said to like the former Liverpool midfielder and believes he would fit into his system of play.

The Romans can take Wijnaldum on loan, as the purchase option of 20 million euros is also included in the agreement.

However, the main issue is said to be the 31-year-old’s salary. He currently earns around 9 million euros (net) per season at PSG. The French club is believed to be willing to pay half the salary, with the other half being paid by Roma.

Mourinho does not want to miss the opportunity to transfer Wijnaldum to his ranks and is thus putting pressure on the club’s leaders to make a move.

The former midfielder of Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and Newcastle United has a valid contract with the Parisians until June 30, 2024.
